Chihuahua On The Run!
This is one feisty Chihuahua. Her name is Lassie and she’s made history in Rogue, Oregon for having been the subject of the city”s Police Department longest chase ever.
She made the police chase after her for 45 minutes. No one has ever been able to keep them on their toes longer. Lassie
We all know how fast chihuahuas are and hard they are to catch once they’re on the run.
She ran into traffic, out of traffic, onto the freeway. She escaped police cars, bystanders and escaped several other attempts to be caught.
Rouge Police in Rogue, Oregon, say it was the longest chase in their department’s history…
Lassie, a two-year-old chihuahua kept the chief of police on his toes for more than 45 minutes yesterday.
After she evaded the chief and several observers trying to help … The chase moved towards the freeway on depot street.
At this point the chief worried the dog would get onto interstate five… So he blared his siren and lights and started looping around the block.
Rogue river chief of police, Ken Lewis said, “I think people thought there was an actual chase going on. They just saw me going round and round the block with my lights and sirens on.”
Ten minutes later the city’s animal clinic reported that lassie had been found.
The chihuahua escaped her kennel at the clinic…so the chief held on to her at the station until its owner arrived.
Chief Lewis says he’s chased bears, cows, and sheep before…but never a chihuahua.
